| Zahra Studio is a lifetime conception that started in Peekskill, N.Y. in the early 90s and than later moved to Beacon, N.Y. and opened October 2000. Zahra Studio is a multi functional art space. Under one roof, there is a gallery, private art studio, custom tattooing and piercing. This tattoo studio and gallery is ground breaking for many different reasons in the Hudson Valley, it’s the first of its kind! It was so far ahead of its time the people around the area couldn’t grasp the concept, so the powers at be in city hall created three different laws outlawing tattooing. This studio and gallery has been used for video and photo shoots, live music, private parties, art installations and solo and group art shows of the abnormal. | |||

The Gallery exhibits rotating multimedia art shows such as fine art, illustrations, under-ground, counter-culture, anti-social and political. The gallery provides public exposure for artists that normally would not get serious, professional hanging space in the Hudson Valley. Shows are done once a month with a reception by the artist following. The gallery is located on Main St. in Beacon, which is one of the largest artist's community outside the five borroughs! This is an open minded space and fully believes in freedom of expression and always looking for new talent. If you are interested, please email with examples of your work. Also check out our Gallery Link for any upcoming shows and sign up for our emailing list. The gallery has a separate entrance and it is not the waiting room for the tattoo studio side. |

| The tattooing done here is clean, sterile, professional and top notch. This is not your typical tattoo studio, there is no tattoo flash hanging on the walls. The studio primarily does one of a kind custom drawn tattoo. However there are books and flash art to look thru for ideas. There are two professional tattooists that work here, Keith Zahra and Stephanie Cecchini. Any custom style can be created. | |||
| Body Piercing is also done by Stephanie from Tuesdays-Saturdays as walk-ins. | |||
| Historically Tattooing has not been protected under the First Amendment, since tattooists were considered printers. Time has changed however there are those who still insist in the old views. Zahra Studio is exposing and bridging the gap between tattooing and the fine arts and helping to educate the ignorant. | |||
